What makes it excellent? It's the fact that it feels snappy and responsive, has decent battery life, and a better than expected camera. It will very easily meet the needs of most casual smartphone users for a price substantially less than that of some of the flagship phones on the market.
It's also waterproof up to 3 feet at 30 minutes. So it can be dropped in a sink or bathtub without any damage to the phone provided the backing is secured to the phone properly.
Motorola is taking a unique approach to the Android phone market by delivering good hardware at a low price without a carrier obligation. This phone most certainly is that - a sub $200 that will be more than adequate for most people in the market for a decent phone.
