As consumers we are blessed with a number of great unlocked smartphones for very low prices. Unfortunately those choices are more limited on Sprint and Verizon here in the United States due to the technology those carriers use. This phone is one of the few inexpensive unlocked phones that work on all US carriers.
This is far from a powerhouse smartphone but it's adequate enough for what a casual user might do. It browses the web nicely, runs most other major apps without a hitch, and is even a decent casual gaming platform. It has 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of flash storage.
The camera isn't spectacular but it's good enough for casual use. Those looking for better quality images should consider the regular G4 that has a better camera built in.
But for its $99 purchase price on Amazon (subsidized by lock screen ads) this is a tremendous bargain for an unlocked phone that not only works on AT&T and T-Mobile but also on Sprint and Verizon. No contract required- just pop in your existing sim card and that's it.
