Will the cable mod work for my device?

You must first establish if it will charge any faster. Charging rate is regulated by the controller on the battery, (their is ridiculous amount of wrong information in these posts, funny to read). 1. Find a method of determining the rate of charge, Android App or Charging hub with display. 2a. Test with the factory charger 2b. Test with a non factory charge with the same max Amp capacity. 3. If there is a difference in charging rate, then the cable mod should provide you with a way to get full speed with the non factory charger.

Note:
Know your equipment specs, example usb port on PC 0.5A, most phone chargers 1.0A, Tablet charger 2.0A

Update, this has no effect on the Galaxy Note 3. You can get full speed on any micro usb if the power supply can handle the 1.2 amps.
