This is an excellent (and much less expensive) alternative to the Apple version of this adapter. Everything about this one performs as well as the Apple one yet Amazon basics costs $25 less. The build quality does not feel as nice as Apple's version but everything else is the same. Given Amazon has decent customer service this is a no brainer.

I tested this in the video with a Macbook but Windows devices equipped with USB-C should also work with it just fine. Just note that not all computers implement USB-C in the same way. For example some Lenovo laptops do not support power over USB-C but do support video and data. Check your product specs before buying to ensure compatibility.
